Sarah Paulson gives out free tickets for trans film Monica

The American Horror Story actress proves once again why she’s our fave trans ally

arah Paulson bought all of the tickets for a cinema screening of Andrea Pallaoro’s new trans film Monica so that people could watch it free of charge according to Dallas Morning News. Featuring Trace Lysette, Monica follows the story of a trans woman returning to her childhood home to look after her dying mother. Premiering at the Venice Film Festival last year, it was also featured at the BFI Flare Festival London.

Andrea Pallaoro told Pink News: “I was aware from the very beginning there was the opportunity to tell a trans story in a way that we are not used to. We are not focusing on the transition or exile but what it means to reconcile and forgive.”

While Sarah hasn’t given a direct statement about why she chose to buy out the screening, we imagine it has something to do with her amazing commitment to the LGBTQIA community. From starring alongside Cate Blanchett in Carol to her beautiful relationship with Holland Taylor, she is a queer icon.

There have been no release dates revealed for UK screenings of Monica, but we’ve got our fingers crossed that it will be coming soon.
